Blanc hopeful over Verratti injury


Paris Saint-Germain mentor Laurent Blanc has played down reasons for alarm over the damage endured by Marco Verratti in Tuesday's Champions League annihilation to Real Madrid.

The Italy universal hurt his lower leg 17 minutes into the Group An installation at the Santiago Bernabeu and was supplanted by Adrien Rabiot preceding Nacho's champ 10 minutes before half-time.

With Blanc's men quick to keep up a solid lead at the highest point of Ligue 1 while fixing their Champions League movement alongside Madrid, the PSG supervisor was peppy over Verratti's damage.

"For the present, I can't say if the harm is not kidding or not genuine," he told correspondents.

"In any case, on a fundamental level, it seems less genuine than we suspected. When I saw him shouting out, I thought it was not kidding.

"He is a heavenly player and it's a compassion he couldn't proceed with this match."

Reports proposed Verratti was analyzed at a healing facility in Madrid on Tuesday and he will probably be tried further on his arrival to Paris.
