Guardiola: Schalke troubled Bayern
Pep Guardiola voiced his pleasure with Bayern Munich's 3-1 Bundesliga win over Schalke as he feels the Gelsenkirchen side did not make life simple for the authoritative champions.
David Alaba gave Bayern an early lead, however Max Meyer leveled for Schalke when he beat Manuel Neuer from outside the range.
By and by, Javi Martinez and Thomas Muller in the end caused Bayern to every one of the three focuses.
"It was difficult to win here, however we did it at last," Guardiola said.
"I can just give the group a compliment. The pitch was not awesome and Schalke's five-man protection made life hard for us. They are speedy through the center.
"We made a fine showing until we yielded the equalizer. We took control of the diversion again after the break.
"We got a great deal of opportunities to choose the diversion after we went 2-1 up, yet the last pass was absent. In any case, we got the three focuses and that matter most."
Bayern are eight focuses clear of second-put Borussia Dortmund after Thomas Tuchel's side were beaten by Hamburg on Friday.
